FRANK M. LUNN has over 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry.

He has been involved in structuring strategic business transactions and practicing entertainment and business law for seventeen years while working for and with top-tier studios, networks and production companies in film and television.

Frank’s strong work experience includes business and legal transactions on behalf of the following corporate clients: The Walt Disney Company, DreamWorks SKG, Fox Family Worldwide, Omation Animation Studio, Wildbrain Entertainment, ABC Cable Networks Group, San Diego Zoo Global and Saban Entertainment. Prior to private practice, Frank worked as an in-house business & legal affairs attorney for over 7 years at both Fox and Disney.

Frank’s practice has primarily focused on television, film, consumer products, gaming, wireless and digital media – including all facets related to development, production and distribution.

Frank has formidable skills to help clients research and develop product, build consumer awareness through marketing and advertising, negotiate distribution of the product in various markets and strategize to increase global revenue potential. He has worked with governments and businesses worldwide.

His experience includes negotiating and drafting agreements regarding the acquisition, development, production, financing and distribution of theatrical motion pictures, cable programming, network programming and digital media.

Frank has capably handled all aspects of day-to-day production affairs, including advising production executives and supervising legal oversight of domestic and international productions filmed in the United States, Canada, Australia, Thailand, South Korea, Germany and the UK.

Frank has provided legal production counsel services on entertainment projects including theatrical features, episodic series, network specials, alternative/reality programming and movies-for-television. Frank has also assisted with budget preparation and compliance with international tax credit initiatives.

While working as an in-house business and legal affairs executive, Frank negotiated and drafted agreements for producers, writers, directors and talent as well as handled distribution agreements, license deals and production service agreements involving other studios, networks and production companies. Additionally, Frank has routinely advised clients regarding intellectual property issues and assisted with labor matters involving guilds and unions.

As the former head of business affairs for Saban Entertainment and Fox Family Worldwide in Canada, Frank negotiated and drafted agreements regarding the development, production, financing and distribution of diverse Canadian programming for 20th Century Fox and Paramount. He also assisted with budget preparation, compliance with Canadian tax credit initiatives and supervised implementation of union/guild collective bargaining agreements.

Frank has served on lawyer-referral panels for both California Lawyers for the Arts and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. In addition, Frank has been a featured speaker for the Disney Writer Fellowship Program, China Dongguan Animation and Toy Fair, the Disney Director Fellowship Program, California Institute for the Arts, China Zhengzhou International Animation Summit, Korean Asian Entertainment Conference, Thailand Creative Venture Capital Forum, Animation Co-Op, Los Angeles Rock’n Comic Con and The Scriptwriters Network.

Frank has the distinguished honor of having been named a “Southern California Super Lawyer / Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine for three years in a row (2005, 2006 and 2007).

Frank is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received his law degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego.
